Not In The Classroom
Is it really necessary to take away from the time our children should spend on getting their education? After all, there is not a day that goes by that you can't see and watch the President on any given network on your television. If you truly think it is that necessary for your child to listen to the President then why not afford them that opportunity from the comfort of your home and from your own television.
Oh I realize that I will attract a mass amount of hits on how I am paranoid or something to that degree, however, we can't have our children having Bible studies and individual prayer groups before or after school then why should we allow a certain political agenda to be taught within our public schools. I have heard that some school districts have afforded parents the right to have their child opt out for this event but I am wondering what sort of rebounded effects that will have upon a child whose parents elects for that!
My Soap Box
Children are no longer permitted to have Bible and prayer groups prior to or after school on the premises due to new laws that have been passed, we are no longer allowed to have the nativity scene displayed on public school property and on Government grounds....then why should it be permitted to have what comes straight down to an issue of morals? Morals is a persons beliefs in what is right and wrong and by having it taught in our schools basically comes down to having your child indoctrinated in someones personal opinion and one that could very well be in the opposite direction of what your believe. Makes sense don't you think!
Take The Trip
How many parents do you know who have taken a trip with their child and sat all day in their classrooms to see exactly what they are being taught?
I can only tell you the amount of times that I hear people on a daily basis with school aged children complain about what their child has seen or heard at school that was delivered by a teacher. They are supposed to have planned curriculum to go by, however, there is absolutely nothing that would prohibit any teacher from uttering their own personal beliefs and thoughts upon your children that may say be less than acceptable.
Until everyone is willing to make a stand and take time to do exactly what I have addressed above, you can hardly expect there to be any significant changes in what your children are taught on a daily basis! If you think I am wrong....prove me right!
